FLOCCULATION / WATER TREATMENT SERVICES: CENTRAL TABLELANDS & BLUE MOUNTAINS, NSW
SERVICES FOR DAMS AND CONSTRUCTION SITES, NSW
Flocculation is a water treatment process where solids that form larger clusters, or ‘flocs’, are to be removed from water. Flocculation efficiently reduces the cloudiness of sediment-filled water found in dams and construction sites. Since most construction sites have large exposed areas of soil, after a heavy storm event or during long periods of rain, water runs off to sedimentation basins after it’s mixed with various dust particles from the site causing a muddy milkshake.
Construction sites over one acre are generally required to install measures to retain and stabilise the disturbed sediment within the site. These measures include silt fence, sediment traps, storm drain inlet protection, and other control measures. However, water discharged from these devices can be very turbid from the suspended clays and fine silts that are very difficult to settle out. newera can assist with sediment control and has all the expertise, products and specialised equipment to undertake flocculation so water can safely be released.
